Prateik Babbar totally won our hearts with his unconventional portrayal of Genelia D’Souza’s brother in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and then had us marveling at his superb acting skills as Munna in Dhobi Ghat and Lorry in Dum Maaro Dum. Now, he’s all set to share screen space with biggies like Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan in Aarakshan. But what I am really excited about is Prateik’s first solo hero project, Prem Katha with British model and actor, Amy Jackson!
The movie is directed by Gautham Menon and is a remake of his own Tamil and Telugu film, Ye Maya Chesaave and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. The music of this flick which is essentially a romantic drama has been composed by A.R.Rahman. The makers have been filming in several locations in Mumbai, Kerala and Delhi. Amy and Prateik have shot some beautiful scenes at The Taj Mahal in Agra as well. (Mush!)
Prem Katha is also being shot in Chennai where they shot at my favorite coffee shop in the world, Amethyst where I met my husband for the first time ever. (I so want to go back to Chennai right now). There are also two special songs in the movie which have been written by Javed Akhtar who’s collaborating with Gautham Menon for the first time ever. I am totally in love with Prateik’s choice of characters which is a little eccentric but super cute! So, watch out for more Prem Katha updates on MissMalini. Tell me about your favorite Prateik Babbar movie peeps.
