That Girl In Yellow Boots – I have been waiting for this movie for-ever now. Anurag Kashyap‘s directorial venture after Dev D (Gulaal though released later was filmed earlier). And I finally saw the trailer yesterday.
In usual Anurag Kashyap style the montages are dark, disturbing, shot in stylized lights and uber-sexy. It has an impressive star cast of Kalki Koechlin, Naseeruddin Shah, Piyush Mishra and Divya Jagdal. It is the story of Ruth Edscer’s (Kalki) search for her father. From the trailer it looks like in her desperation to reach out to her dad she gets caught in the slimy by-lanes of Bombay underbelly.
Dev D is a very, very tough act to follow and specially now, since Anurag is part of the established Bolly directors club (when he made Dev D he was still struggling and had not been accepted and hence could channel all that creative frustration).
Here’s hoping That Girl In Yellow Boots is as interesting and gritty as the trailer promises.
