Lakmé has come out with its new range of make up called Lakmé Absolute. All throughout LFW, Lakmé put up a FabLab, basically a center where all the latest make up from this range was kept to try out. Each year Lakmé chooses it’s face for their new make up, usually they choose famous models, this time however they chose Kareena Kapoor. I asked Farida Kalyadan (General Manage of Lakmé) why Kareena was a fit for the new launch. Her answer was quite simple; Kareena is a modern day working woman who epitomizes the essence of the new collection. At the press con, Kareena looked radiant in a dress that she says is Kavita Bhartia (I’m presuming as she didn’t specify) although the dress looked a lot like it could be a CUE creation by Rohit and Rahul. I loved the Ad campaign with Kareena, was very chic, check it out in the video, I filmed it as it was playing on those massive visual displays!
Having tried out the make up, I can assure you the lipsticks are the sure winners. The colour lasted all day, or rather about 9 hours (although they say it lasts about 16) from my calculation, which is a lot of time. The 16 hours performance must come from their eye liners or foundations, which I didn’t try on, but would love to test to see if they really are that high performance. The best thing about this new range is that each product smells yummy, if you’ve bought Lakmé make up before, you’ll know that they smell a bit medicinal. These products however smell incredible.
