As you might be aware, Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations are in full swing in our city. To celebrate the festival, many individuals and groups of people bring Ganesh idols to their home or workplace. For the last couple of years, the emphasis has been on eco-friendly or green Ganesh idols. Green Ganeshas do not disrupt the water body when they are immersed. These idols are placed in decorated pandals for people to view and pay their homage.

Shibani Kashyap inaugurated the arati at R Mall for the BIG green Ganesha. She looked lovely in a traditional outfit. Following the arati is my favourite part: the prasad. I love Ganesh Chaturthi because that’s the time I visit all my friends and relatives and stock up on modaks. Modak is the sweet offered at the the end of the prayer.
