How to Wear the Midi Length Trend…

Sonakshi Sinha

We’re loving the longer skirt lengths draping international runways and our very own celebs, alike. The look adds strength with structure and heavy fabrics – but it’s not meant to look whimsical.

Sonakshi Sinha rocked the trend in a black midi dress at Arpita Khan’s birthday. Anju Modi’s midi length full skirts are also making pulses race. It’s all about mid-length this season, ladies: Anarkalis are not reaching the floor like last year and Pakistani shalwars kameezes (with shorter kameezes and straight legged pants) are all the rage.

Carolina Herrera

International fashionistas may want to look at Carolina Herrera’s collection.   The most important part – how to wear it right? Straight cut kurtas that fall a few inches below the knee are the way forward. Choose a colour block in the same tones and add a bright accessory to spice it up (think a coral beaded necklace with a tan midi kurta and palazzos). Reduce the number of panels on Anarkalis to make it look less heavy.   Wearing it Western means pairing midi length dresses with stockings and boots in the same tone. Winning tip: it makes your legs look long! Avoid shoes with ankle straps as it divides up your body too much. Balance is key, so go midi!
