To celebrate 5000 years in the jewellery industry, Goldplus has launched the world’s first ever pure gold jewellery car! Nearly 80kgs of 22 karat gold, 15kgs of silver and 10,000 semi-precious and precious stones were used in the making of this car – pretty crazy, right? Seems like Bappi Lahiri has got a new ride. 😉 Team MissMalini was at the launch today, so we’ve got some pix for you!

Mr Bhaskar Bhat, managing director of Titan Industries: “Paying homage to 5000 years of Jewellery tradition in India, we conceptualized to create ‘The World’s first gold jewellery car’ incorporating a variety of techniques.”
The car has been made with 14 different techniques of jewellery making, including Filigree, Meenakari, Kundan and Naqashi work. So, this Nano pretty much merges the different (and so culturally distinct) jewellery techniques across India. And really, the result is amazing to look at.

Mr. C.K. Venkataraman, COO Jewellery Division: “Through this effort we wanted to showcase the expertise of diverse Indian Jewellery making proficiency.”
Loved the way Mr Venkataraman presented the Nano during the launch; whoever conceptualized that did a great job. Check out the video to catch a glimpse!

Really intricate, right? Hats off to designers Deeksha Sheety, Navnit Anvekar, Saravanan V, Karthick Kumar, Bhaskar A and the team of 30 karigars who worked on this. It looks really spectacular. Now could we have a test drive, please? 😀
