Although a fresh face was to be cast opposite Aamir Khan in Dhoom:3, the word from YRF is that Katrina Kaif has been finalized for the role. The director, Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor) said, “After almost a year of searching for a new face for Dhoom:3, both Aditya Chopra and I were unable to find the perfect debutante to play the lead role. Once we decided to go with a known face and not pursue the new-comer route, Katrina was the obvious choice for all of us. The first time pairing of Aamir with Katrina will also certainly add value.” The film will begin shooting at the end of this year and is slated for a 2012 Christmas release.
Katrina Kaif, at present, is already shooting for YRF’s project with Salman Khan titled Ek Tha Tiger. We even brought you the scoop from the sets in Ireland, remember? The former couple have been paired together earlier but unfortunately, the films have tanked. Here’s hoping this one hits the right mark. The film will release June 1st, 2012.
Katrina Kaif has also signed on Yash Chopra‘s directorial comeback with Shah Rukh Khan. While the film was slated to go on floors this November to be ready for a Diwali 2012 release, we hear rumours SRK has postponed this engagement to take a break post Ra.One.
