Last evening I attended the launch of the The Amber Studio by Ecru Luxury,  a sought after couture and bridal wear label that is launching its first store in Mumbai.

Amber is the brainchild of Ankur Batra and Amita Shukla whose luxury Pret label, Ecru (based in New Delhi) has been a part of the wardrobes of Indian royalty and the country’s leading industrialist families.

A strictly ‘by appointment’ luxurious experience with individually crafted designs that are not part of an assembly line or collection make Amber a warm and intimate place for the discerning fashion lover.

The launch saw some of B-Town’s hotties in signature Amber designs blending Indian motifs with western silhouettes. I am totally in love with some of the Flared Anarkali Kurtas (btw.. Pink and Corals are so hot right now) and I wouldn’t mind some of their wonderful gowns and lehengas for the festive season either.

The store had the signature motif of the brand incorporated in various elements of the opulent interiors like the etched copper mirrors, the backlit carved wooden panels and the laser cut frosted designs on glass all of which perfectly complement the grandeur of the clothes.

Rahul Khanna looked unbelievably hot in an all black Sherwani as he spoke to me about his personal style, how he thinks MissMalini rules (Yay!) and what he’s basically been up to these days.

The girls Lisa Hayden , Ira Dubey, Sarah Jane Dias and Farah Khan Ali looked elegant in extravagant Amber creations. Totally elated after my little chat with each of them about their personal style and what’s happening work wise!

Loved Farah Khan’s beige gossamer Saree which perfectly complements her statement earrings and Ira’s sensuous wine & rust flared lehenga with a dupatta that’s also a necklace in the front!

Lisa (who’s totally excited about her new flick Rascals) looked quite the stunner in floor length burgundy gown and Sarah Jane was super cute in an all white embellished ensemble.

Immaculate detailing, neatly finished and beautifully crafted designs which perfectly blend traditional and classic with contemporary are sure to make the brand a hot favorite with fashionistas!
