Every year People Magazine launches an issue of their Best Dressed, quite a hard job I must say. Although they’ve been getting better, especially the really big names, like People’s current cover girl Priyanka Chopra. She was dressed in a Manish Malhotra garment, which I must add is on another level (yes I said it Rachel Zoe). No wonder they chose her for this year’s Best dressed, she has fab stylists like Manish to help her! What do we think of the other people who attended though? Take a look.
The men namely Karan Johar and Rahul Khanna rocked it out with a white and black look. I like that Rahul went with a Jodhpuri flair with his bandhgala and Judpur trousers. Shahid Kapoor on the other hand must have thought he was going for a casual dinner with his b-town friends, because a cotton shirt and jeans don’t make the cut. Sorry Honey, your dimples only get you so far.
Mandira Bedi turned up in her signature spaghetti strap blouse and Sari. Although I’m not hot on the print of the sari, I do like that her bindi and lipstick match.
Hands down Sophie Choudry looks the cutest in her short cocktail dress. As I mentioned in the Maheep Kapoor event which was held the same day as this one, the coral colour looked great on her. Sushma Reddy likes to keep it minimal with a great lace shift dress. Urmilla Matondkar has a great body but I don’t like what the extremely short white dress is doing for her. The uneven hem and almost too gold accessories are just making her look passé.
Shantanu and Nikhil’s creation on Sameera Reddy is a flattering silhouette and you can tell she likes the dress. Yet, I don’t love the fabric on her, plus it’s a bit wrinkled at the bottom. Actually even Poorna Jagannathan’s dress could use a good press. I don’t know what Poorna’s dress looked like from the front, but the back probably made all the men in the room do a double take. I’m in love with Natasha Poonawala’s Louboutins, I couldn’t stop staring at them, how much do you think I need to save up for a pair?
