When your birthday is just a night before Diwali, you bring it in with sparkling fireworks and that’s exactly what designer Amy Billimoria did on her terrace last night. She had decorated the venue with strings of fairy lights which made the place look magical.
What was nice about this party was the fact that the petite designer had kept the guest list exclusive and intimate. She didn’t go overboard inviting everybody and their grand-aunt. “I’ve only invited close friends and family, the people who matter to me the most,” she tells me.
Decked out in an extravagant creation of her own design and accentuated with dazzling cocktail jewelry by Farah Khan Ali, Amy made sure she got all her guests on to the dance floor to boogie to some lovely retro numbers like Daddy Cool, Rasputin and Dancing Queen.
Spotted at this intimate evening were model / actor Aryan Vaid, Alexx O’Neil, singer Carylta Mouhini (who sang Happy Birthday in Spanish), TV star Rakesh Paul, Imam Siddique, Viren Shah of Roopam and producer Bob Brahmbhatt.
