Even though we may not have seen much coverage on him at the recent Formula One Grand Prix in India, our very own home-grown racer, Narain Karthikeyan, made quite a fashion statement in the cockpit of his car.
The racer wore an interesting helmet that has been especially designed for him with some lovely kitsch motifs to add a dash of desi flavour.
“My Indian GP-special helmet had the Taj Mahal, the Ashoka Chakra and my own caricature too! Thanks to Art Rotondo. Amazing design,” said Narain on his Twitter* account.
We love his caricature the most, with him carrying a funky “Welcome to India” sign. And we also love the statue of Buddha as well.
Nothing like having Buddha’s blessings when you’re zipping around the track at a manic pace, what say?
