Zeenat Aman
Zeenat Aman

The lovely Zeenat Aman, who still holds a special place in many hearts, celebrates her 6oth birthday today. Zeenat has been known for defying the conventional role of a woman by doing slightly off-beat and more controversial roles. Yet, she has managed to balance it all with more mainstream roles. She was credited with ushering in the western and youthful characterization of women. On her birthday, we’re taking a look at some of her best songs!

Dum Maaro Dum from Hare Rama Hare Krishna

Zeenat Aman was chosen as a last-minute replacement in this film (Zaheeda backed out), and for that she’ll consider herself lucky – this is, to date, one of her most remembered songs.

Chura Liya Hai Tumne from Yaadon Ki Baarat

This is one of my favourite songs – and undoubtedly one of Zeenat Aman’s best!

Do Lafzon Ki Hai from The Great Gambler

This is one of those songs that never get old – you can listen to it anytime, and it will always take you right back to that gondola. 😉

Laila Main Laila from Qurbaani

Zeenat Aman looks stunning in this song – one she will always be remembered for.

Khatouba Khatouba from Alibaba Aur 40 Chor

This is a fun song, but beware – the “khatouba khatouba” line can get stuck in your head and refuse to leave!

O Meri Soni from Yaadon Ki Baarat

Love this song! One of my happy songs. 🙂
