In the year that sees the celebration of its 90th anniversary, Gucci hosted a private cocktail party last evening at its Mumbai store on occasion of the Artisan Corner. This exclusive event brought the craftsmanship of Gucci’s Florentine leather goods factory directly to its clientele. The House’s most skilled artisans were stationed at custom-built workshops and offered a unique viewing of time-honored traditions.

The craftsmen assembled four signature Gucci handbags, the New Bamboo, the Jackie, the Stirrup, and the Gucci 1973 and assorted smaller leather items. Guests saw first hand the meticulous attention to detail and superb craftsmanship that is involved in the production of every item in the House’s leather goods collection.

The Gucci artisans will be in the New Delhi store on December 10th. The hand-crafted products can be personalized with hand-embossed monogramming. In addition, each handbag features a special inside plaque embossed with the location and date. The Artisan Corner display includes custom work tables, a sewing machine, a leather stand, and metal tools, as well as additional background materials which show the products’ evolution from mood board to sketches.
