Day 2 of India Resort Fashion Week and the fashion has begun with a call back to nature with Felix Bendish’s jungle/ rainforest inspired collection. Gone are the days of gold and silver jewellery, Felix firmly believes in bright neon colours for his collection with a whole lot of texture and a smattering of bling for good measure. This collection will have all the party girls who are headed for some all night beach parties craving for his pieces. His little embellished lizards were seen crawling up many blouses, shirts and dress since yesterday, making them a hit already!
Ken Ferns who is a close friend of Ranjit Rodericks and the MissMalini team showcased his all white collection. See through maxi dresses, sequined lace leggings, and flower applique were seen in shades of white and ivory. A delicate collection but with a whole lot of edge, which is something Ken keeps in mind when he designs for his ‘woman’. It was a palette cleansing collection especially since he was sandwiched between two very colourful collections.
Divya Mohta showed a collection called ‘birds of paradise’. It was a burst of of prints seen on loose fit kaftan dresses, swim wear and amazing cover ups. Divya Mohta did mention that she might go for the Sunburn festival this year, and judging from her collection you could sense that she designed around that thought of being on the beach and dancing all day. Very girly and a whole lot of fun, these will be flying off the shelves as soon as they hit stores. Plus, what a surprise to have fellow designer Narendra Kumar walk the ramp too, none of us saw that coming!
We also spotted out winners at breakfast this morning, getting ready for a day of fashion and relaxation! The red head (loving the colour) Stacey D’sylva and Valentine Fernandez. I hope to see them soon around the lounge for a quick drink before the next show!
