PROVOGUE:

On the second day of the ongoing India Resort Fashion Week at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Goa, the event’s co-sponsor, Provogue showcased a comfortable line of clothing where the feel and mood of the collection was ‘Lets Just Have Fun’. The silhouettes for women’s wear were simple yet stylish with the aforementioned Hot Pants making an appearance in various hues like white, blue and even denim. These micro shorts and skirts with frayed edges at times, were teamed with sequined, printed one-shoulder T-Shirts and tops in hues like baby pink, white and orange, accessorized with beaded necklaces. The prints included butterfly-motifs embellished with sequined embroidery on white jersey tops.

Designer Anupama Dayal

ANUPAMA DAYAL:

Even designer Anupama Dayal, whose show was after Provogue, had big huge butterflies embroidered onto some of her garments. “I feel like they will come to life and fly away,” says Anupama with a girly giggle.

This collection of resort-wear is called “Sherbet” and Anupama says her designs senses have been “Mixed, shaken and stirred to present a deliciously refreshing cocktail worthy of Goan sunsets.”

With flowy and loose silhouettes as the benchmark for this collection, the designer says her collection is targeted at the sensitive Earth-love,r whose thirst for the beauty and timelessness of fashion transcends ‘trendy’. The wearer understands that fashion is a powerfully transformational tool. “She is a free spirited global gypsy. She travels, she learns, she imbibes arts, music, folklore, cuisine. She dresses to express her many layers. Her cultural enrichment glows as she grows,” confides the designer.

Seen on the ramp were dresses with ruffle hems which looked soft and casual while the men’s wear was sexy with structured pajamas and shirts.
