I really like Riteish Deshmukh. I think he’s super cute and seems like a lot of fun. And fun he is – he’s great at comedy as is probably best known for the comic roles he’s done over the years. Since it’s his birthday, we’re going to take a look at some of his best comic scenes – and maybe you can tell us your favourites later? 🙂

1. Masti

Masti was one of his first films and probably his first real comic role. I know it’s one of those leave-your-brain at home type films, but that’s what makes it so funny – even today, if I’m in the mood for a little mindless comedy, Masti will probably be at the top of my list to pick up!

2. Kya Kool Hai Hum

I remember this movie being all the rage when it first came out (especially the title song). And it seems like the rage continues because they’re currently filming for the sequel, Kya Supercool Hai Hum! Hopefully this sequel entertains as much as the first film did.

3. Bluffmaster

Riteish plays a con man in this film, and he provides many laughs as he does so. I know he and Junior Bachchan really bonded on the sets of this film (I still really enjoy reading some of their Twitter exchanges) – it was a special one for everyone and in fact actually completed it’s 6-year anniversary yesterday (I know this thanks to a pesky journo at AB’s Salvatorre Ferragamo event, *lol*). This song in particular was all the rage when it first released, and I may or may not admit to knowing all the words of AB’s rap at the beginning…

4. Apna Sapna Money Money

Dekha jo tujhe yaar, dil mein bhaji guitar… I think after those lines, there’s not much more I can say to explain this funny song. It features some hilarious moves by Riteish as well as some cross-dressing… definitely one of the most entertaining songs in recent times.

5. Heyy Babyy

Heyy Babyy was like another Masti in terms of three young men being left to their own devices. This film features an adorable baby and the crazy shenanigans of three bachelors as they try to take care of a baby and figure out which of them is the father.

6. De Taali

I really liked De Taali and thought it was underrated. It’s a super-cute movie with some funny scenes by Riteish (his interactions with Rimi Sen post-kidnapping are both hilarious and cute).

7. Housefull

*Lol* So how ridiculous is this song? In a good way, I think. This film features a lot of mix-ups and misunderstanding that will have you cackling (and thanking your lucky stars that none of these things happen in your life).

Happy birthday, Riteish, from all at MissMalini! We hope you have a wonderful day with friends, family, and Genelia D’Souza, of course! 😉
