A contestant has his horse jump a barrier

The Amateur Riders Club (ARC) in Mumbai recently presented a unique event as part of the ongoing National  Equestrian Championships: The Land Rover Ride & Drive. For the first time real horse power met  man-made horse power as junior riders raced their horses while a senior drivers accelerated their cars. This unique combination competed as a team in a race to perfection.

Presented by the Amateur Riders Club, in association with Royal Western Indian Turf Club Ltd and Ashwin Gidwani Productions, the Raymonds National  Equestrian Championships is being held upto 24th December 2011 and welcomes all equestrian enthusiasts.

Hosted by Raj Shroff of the ARC, present at the event were Vivek Jain of RWITC, Ashwin Gidwani,  Adhuna Akhtar (who was a very fine contestant in Rride and Drive) with  daughters, Randeep Hooda, Kunal Kapoor,  Alisha Chauhan and Riyaad  Kundalmal.

Winning the  Land Rover Ride & Drive were:

1st – Faud Mirza With Karan Virmani

2nd – Tejas and Kuntal Bhatti

3rd – Gursoba Singh And Davender Singh

4th – Cadet Pradeep Kumar And Risalder Narader Singh.
