Uday Chopra
Uday Chopra

Here’s something you may not be hearing too often: I like Uday Chopra. I think he’s adorable, he’s got a cute smile and he’s not even a bad actor (I mean when you have people like Tusshar Kapoor and Harman Baweja around, why are we giving Uday this “honour”?) I love Uday in his cute, bubbly roles – and for his birthday, I’m taking you through my top 3 favourite Uday characters 🙂 1. Sanjay from Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai

If there’s one movie I prefer in its Bollywood version rather than its Hollywood version, it’d have to be Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai. While I loved My Best Friend’s Wedding, something about the Bollywoodized version was more entertaining to me (even while I acknowledge that MBFW is the better movie… maybe it’s the “happier” ending in MYKSH that did it for me?) Uday plays the guy stuck in the just-friends zone – and I can’t help but laugh at his over-enthusiastic scheming attempts.

2. Rohan from Mujhse Dosti Karoge

If I were in Rani‘s position, I would have picked Uday’s character (Rohan) over Hrithik’s (Raj). I just find him more endearing and so much more fun – he genuinely likes her and his attempts to woo her are too adorable. Raj does nothing but brood for 80% of the film; so annoying.

3. Ali from Dhoom/Dhoom 2

Ali is my favourite character of Uday’s. He’s cute, funny and you can’t help but laugh at his tactics. This is also pretty much his most popular character – and I can’t wait to see more in Dhoom 3!

Happy birthday, Uday, from Team MissMalini! We hope you have a great day and wish you all the best for your endeavors in the USA! 🙂
