Actress Kalki Koechlin may not win fashion awards and is definitely not the most stylish, label-friendly Bollywood star. Yet, she’s probably the only actress to have walked more miles on the ramp than any other fashionista in 2011. Her sense of style, off the ramp, is quirky, colourful and eclectic – a style which perfectly suits her elfin charm and impish smile.
All of last year, Kalki Koechlin made her mark at numerous fashion events as the celebrity show-stopper. From Babita Malkani’s show at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai to walking with Prateik Babbar for Rina Dhaka at Wills Fashion Week in Delhi (to promote their film, My Friend Pinto), Kalki had the audience cheering her on with gusto.
We also loved it when she danced down the ramp at the India International Jewelry Week in Mumbai last year, wearing a white choli-lehenga ensemble and dripping with dazzling jewels.
And even though she’s French, she carries off a saree with panache and elan.
