Farah Khan

Farah Khan has an extremely illustrious Bollywood career – she’s done the choreography for a number of films, has won several awards, and has ventured into producing, directing and scriptwriting. However, she’s most recognized for her choreography, so for her birthday, I’m sharing with you 10 of my favourite Farah songs. Share yours with us as well! 🙂

1. Pehla Nasha

Pehla Nasha was Farah Khan’s first song as a choreographer, and what a lovely song it is. There’s nothing complicated or over-the-top about it, but she captures the first love feeling very well – so pure and innocent.

2. Chaiyya Chaiyya

Who could leave this iconic song off the list? A favourite, even today.

3. Koi Mil Gaya

I remember how completely obsessed I used to be with this song. I remember my younger days; standing in front of the TV and trying to mimic the moves in this song.

4. Ek Pal Ka Jeena

One of Hrithik‘s first songs, and still one of his most popular – thanks in part to the awesome moves in this song!

5. Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe

This song was like the national anthem of the youth back then. Such a fun song, and what great moves. Also a special mention to Woh Ladki Hai Kahan, also from this movie. That “flying” step will forever be a favourite.

6. Bole Chudiyan

This was another one of those songs I used to be completely obsessed with. One of my life’s greatest tragedies is that I was not able to dance to it at any sangeet! 😛 (And now it’s become too “old” to be acceptable, psh).

7. Ishq Kamina

Love this song. Love. SRK and Ash burn up the floor with this one.

8. Gori Gori

Main Hoon Na had some really well-choreographed songs – Tumse Milke and Chale Jaise Hawaiyein (that was a one-shot song!) are worth mentioning as well. However, Gori Gori will have to be a favourite.

9. Munni Badnaam Hui

What can even be said about this song? Farah has created some legendary moves, and Malaika looks smokin’ while performing them.

10. Sheila Ki Jawani

Embarrassing confession: I am majorly obsessed with this song. To the point where, when it first released, I had memorized every single move and would sporadically break into dance. I don’t think I will ever get tired of this song. Ever. Twenty years from now, you may still catch me dancing to this. 😉

Happy Birthday, Farah! As you say – picture abhi baaki hai mere dost. So we’re expecting the best from you yet! 🙂
