It was all a buzz at IKFW Day 3 with bollywood actress Sushmita Sen and her two daughters Renee and Alisah walking for Nishka Lulla. A bit of trivia for you, Sushmita’s daughter Renee first walked the ramp for Nishka’s mom Neeta Lulla, so it was only fitting that Alisah make her runway debut with Nishka. The trio looked like a carnival of colour in their vibrant ensembles and unlike mommy Sush who tripped (but didn’t fall), Renee aced her walk and even teased her mom about it later.
Although we were unable to get an exclusive byte with Sush, we did get the best seats at the press con, although there were a few bothersome reporters, so bare with my abysmal editing skills! Speaking about the best seats, spotted sitting on the front row for Nishka’s show was Genelia D’souza wearing a white off shoulder blouse and skirt from Nishka previous collection.
This collection was by far Nishka’s best, although it was similar to her Talent box collection held last year; I really think Nishka is a children’s wear designer at heart, her youthful fun personality complimented this collection thoroughly, and we really hope she continues to design more kids collections. This collection was a mix and match of Kalamkari and Rajasthani patch work with bright neon tie-dye. It was literally an explosion of colour and life that the kids wearing them embodied. With that came to a close of India’s and also Asia (I believe, correct me if I’m wrong) first Kid’s Fashion Week.
