MissMalini has always wished “To The Moon” for her fabulous blog and some of us from the team, fulfilled her wish a little as we partied high above Mumbai and its neighbouring cities, at 35,000 feet!

On Friday afternoon, we were invited to party with celebrities aboard a special charter Jet Airways flight to celebrate the success of a few people from across the country who took part in – and won – a contest held by Nokia Lumia Phones.

Everybody congregated at a restaurant outside the airport an hour beforethe flight was scheduled to take off, where they interacted with the celebrities – Tisca Chopra, Rajat Barmecha, Gurpreet Bedi, Meiyang Chang and Miss India 2010 Manasvi Mamgai.

All the winners happily posed for pictures with the famous personalities, and thankfully, there were no intrusive bodyguards and bouncers to prevent them from interacting with each other.

Once on the plane, everyone was given a goody bag which contained party favours like a colourful wig, blingy sun-glasses and a beaded necklace, which they were to wear on board. No prizes for guessing that it looked like a carnival and everybody was sporting enough to don the funky accessories and had a blast taking pictures.

The “in-flight entertainment” was in the form of stand-up comedy by comedian Papa CJ. He seemed to take particular delight in taking digs at the in-flight crew and Captain Rahul Nimbalkar (who is incidentally my buddy from school).

As we flew above Mumbai and its neighbouring cities for close to an hour, we were happy to be a part of the very first party-in-the-sky, organized by Nokia.

And now, the next big party will be (in MissMalini’s words), “To The Moon!”
