Recently, Isha Koppikar performed to Kombdi Pallali, the Marathi item number from which Chikni Chameli is inspired – and apparently, she’s been going around saying that she could have done Chikni Chameli better than Katrina! Isha prefers the original song, saying it sounds best when in Marathi – according to her, Chikni doesn’t even come close.
While she’s quick to do the whole “politically correct” thing and say Katrina has done a great job with Chikni, she says she would have kept her Maharashtrian roots in mind and done it a little differently. Way to play the Marathi card to earn a little love and publicity, Isha! Your thoughts?
