If you’ve ever been to a high-profile art event in Mumbai, chances are you’ve seen artist Julius Macwan – unmissable, probably because he’s the only guy in the room wearing a skirt (or any variation of it). We’ve seen him in colourful embroidered lehengas, gypsy skirts and even quasi-kilts.
So, when we caught up with him recently at the Diesel boutique in Mumbai, for an art event, we asked him what the reaction usually is from sales girls in the boutiques, where he buys his skirts!
He tells us, “I know my waist-size so I just walk in and pick out what I like! I don’t need to try on the skirts in the store itself! Mostly, they think I’m buying it for a lady-friend!”
Now that just leaves us with one question, we were too polite to ask : What does he wear on a really windy day? 😛
