The Tata Theatre at NCPA will witness a breathtaking musical extravaganza titled Twilight Trail this evening. Tabla maestro, Zakir Hussain, will lead the concert, which is essentially a specially designed musical ensemble. This is an endeavor being led by Sahachari Foundation, a trust which works towards rasing funds for NGOS in the field of education, healthcare, upliftment of women, animal welfare and the promotion of arts. D’décor and Ketan Brothers have joined hands, to support Sahachari Foundation, in their efforts to bring this unique and exciting musical fest that combines rhythmic elements from north and south Indian music, coupled with the metrical structures of various western and African drums.
What I love is that the concert aims to amalgamate the traditional with the contemporary, and it looks like a lot of passion and hard work went into creating the magic that we shall see unfold tonight. The ensemble includes Taufiq Qureshi, Selva Ganesh, Vijay Prakash and Ajay Joglekar. I am a big Zakir Hussain fan and I’m super thrilled that MissMalini asked me to cover this tonight.
