We thought we’d do something different this time, with the daily recap of shows we’re not highlighting – a top looks list. We love our lists here at MissMalini.com, and thought we’d give you the most strong, fun, wacky, crazy, gorgeous, fierce, edgy, chic…dammit I ran out of fashion adjectives… I’m sure you can think of a few, so have a go at telling us what you think of some of the runway looks from Day 1 at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2012 in the comments.
Khusali Kumar

Angels and a princess was the theme of the collection, and you could see that, with the wing-esque sequined work on the open back of all the dresses. Very pretty dainty colours, nothing too harsh and nothing too bright; simple, soft feminine colours with ornate silver sequins. These dresses are going to be a hit with the socialites and starlets who love their glitter. Psst, Don’t you think both Khushali Kumar and Dia Mirza look like showstoppers?!
SoFake

The So Fake collection is actually a very wearable line of clothes, that is only in black and white with acute detailing. But why put on a show that everyone has seen when you can take your audience into you’re little circus of chaos!? That’s exactly what Sapna Bhavnani and Sukriti Grover did; they took their imagination and brought it to life. Thanks girls, for an exciting show filled with unexpected silhouettes and drama.
At Sailex

Sailex showed a collection that had a vintage disco feel, from it’s nude tones with ivory applique, to the blood orange shirt that walked down the runway. Out of all the looks, the fist two were the most iconic. All that these maillot require now is a yacht and some good looking men!
Rajat K Tangri

Are you the single sister-in-law of the bride this summer? Why opt for a salwar kameez, when you can stand out in this coral ruffle peplum gown from Rajat K Tangri? There were many sequined and flashy numbers in this collection to help you grab all the lime light for that sangeet – after all aren’t you next in line?
Retarded Velvet

Remember them? They showcased at Gen Next last season, and decided to come back with yet another quirky collection, but this time at the Talent Box. Retarded Velvet had some amazingly cool prints – from the Amul girl print jodhpurs to the 5/2rs note print. I wouldn’t mind a little extra money, even if it was just on my dress.
