James Ferreira’s Time Has Come

James Ferrerira

If we were to look back 10 years from now, when James Ferreira was doing these collections of stunningly minimal and languid clothing, very, and I mean very few women would be daring enough to wear them. Things have changed; more importantly women in India have changed; they now want to dress like the carefree women James portrays in his collections. It’s more evident than every before, especially with his ultra chic Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 collection.

James Ferreira

It was a play of contrast on the ramp, with tie-dye done in opposing colors, that really stood out, and will look incredible on our skin tones. From onion pink to tangerine to brilliant turquoise and purple, we’re talking about summer party colours. Each garment, in true James style, hugged the body and then gave it room to breathe – such a beautiful play on the bias cut, which is, after all, magic in his hands. He ended the night with ivory looks for both men and women, that are definitely going to be seen dotting the Mumbai brunch circuit, for the next few sultry summer months. Absolutely sophisticated, and completely sexy at the same time, this collection say James’ time has come, and it’s here to stay.
