Uh oh. Seems like Ranbir Kapoor‘s world tour has been postponed again; if you remember, it was originally scheduled for July 2011, but then got pushed to August 2012. However, now the news is that it’s been postponed once more – indefinitely. Earlier, it was pushed back because Ranbir believed he didn’t have enough dance numbers of his own to really entertain the audience. This time around?
Sources say that it’s because Ranbir wants to concentrate on his film assignments, since he’s got a few offers on hand thanks to his performance in Rockstar. Plausible though that may be, it’s also possible that it’s just because there aren’t enough people interested in accompanying him on the tour. Shahid Kapoor reportedly never confirmed his presence on the tour – he had expressed interest when approached by officials, but it didn’t amount to anything because he apparently wasn’t happy with it being promoted solely as Ranbir’s show. Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were dropped from the show post their comments against Ranbir on the now infamous episode of Koffee With Karan:
Since Papa Kapoor was mighty upset with them, two new replacements needed to be found. Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra were obvious choices at the time, but now Kat is an iffy option considering her “history” with Ranbir and the rumors that they’re not exactly on the best of terms. And PC seems to just be seriously busy with her film assignments (she’s got Teri Meri Kahaani, Barfi, Krrish 3 and who knows what else in her kitty), and of course her music deal which she really wants to concentrate on.
With all these people out, it seems like the world tour is on hold once again, though the officials have yet to confirm anything. We’ll keep you updated as we know more.
