“I enjoyed the shoot—we had this fantastic makeup artist, Christopher Koller, and hair stylist Gabriel. They had no idea that I wear Indian outfits all the time, so they experimented, and I went with the flow. What we ended up with was a great shoot. I’ve shot for pictures that are so not me, and yet, at a very deep level it is me, because I love trying out new things.” – Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan has been known to change up her roles and adapt to them, well Harper’s Bazaar decided to test that with their latest The Grand Issue. They selected Vidya to be their cover girl and have shown her (successfully) in different avatars. I’m sure Photoshop did help, but the styling, make up and hair were the real reasons why this Bollywood Goddess looks so different. Personally I’m digging this edgy and androgynous Vidya, I think it’s a treat visually, and a fresh change from all those Sabyasachi clothes she has in her wardrobe!
