Now before you jump to conclusions, unlike most Hollywood folk who get arrested George Clooney was actually handcuffed for a good reason.
Clooney and his father along with others were arrested for trespassing during a protest in Washington D.C. in front of the Sudanese Embassy. Before Clooney was arrested he told the media, “We are here really to ask two very simple questions, the first question is something immediate — and immediately, we need humanitarian aid to be allowed into the Sudan before it becomes the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.” The second, “is for the government in Khartoum to stop randomly killing its own innocent men, women and children. Stop raping them and stop starving them. That’s all we ask.”
Helping the people of Sudan is a cause Clooney has been closely associated with for years, he’s even the founder of the Satellite Sentinel Project which helps provide evidence of destruction in villages using Satellite imagery & Google Maps. Clooney was out on bail after paying a $100 fine.
