It seems like its time to go on vacation! Everyone except me has some plan to get away from the city and head on out to greener or sandy pastures. So I decided to join in the fun (or rather when you can’t beat them join them) in deciding what to pack for a trip. Here are the top ten essential vacation must haves.
No. 1 The Kaftan
You knew it, so did we, we can’t possible live without a handy dandy kaftan. There are so, let me repeat,sooo many options out there, so pick one that suits your taste, whether colour blocked, printed or plain Jane. they are comfy and hide all those work stress binges you’ve been packing on lately.
No. 2 Gargantuan Sunglasses
Make like Victoria Beckham and grab yourself a pair of giant sunglasses, it’s time to look like a bug who’s hiding a hangover. Darker or ombre, choose your shade and rock them throughout the vacations. If you don’t want to bust your bank account, there are many high street (or even on the street) options that are stylish and pocket friendly.
No. 3 The Cutout Swimsuit
If you’ve been hitting the gym or are blessed with a curvaceous body, then jump at the chance to wear your naughtiest one piece. Just be careful; make sure you use sun screen lotion, because these cutout swimsuits leave terrible tan lines, or use a sheer cover up to block out the sun.
No. 4 The Scandal Sandal
Bring out those attention grabbing sandals, the new erogenous zone is the ankle and show them off in this summer essentials. Delicate straps or interesting textures or even metallics, it’s up to you. I like my sandals to have a pop of colour that will go with all my outfits, but there aren’t any hard and fast rules, you’ll be running around the sand without them anyways!
No. 5 The Almost Sheer Dress
Whether you’re on the beach or getting ready to hit the town, a sheer paneled dress that keep the mister playing hide and seek is the best way to do demure sexy. Maxi and loose for the day or snug and short for the night, it’s a staple this season.
No. 6 The Poncho
No it’s not a grandma think to do, think about smart casual white shorts and a bikini paired with a poncho, hot right? Well it, is trust us. It’s also a better alternative to the sarong and peach towel for when you get out of the pool or lounging on the beach.
No. 7 Crochet is not dated
Crochet tops are the cutest things to throw over your swimwear or over a tank and jeans. Whether you’re picking up one from high street stores or making one yourself, make sure they are light knit crochet and not those bulky woolies.
No. 8 Looks like Folk Jewellery
What better way to bring in a little tradition and character than with vintage jewellery or pieces that look like you’ve bought then from travels. Tribal, folk, bohemian pieces that are simple and earthy will carry your look from day to night.We love the ones that have that earthy, natural feel to them.
No. 9 Printed Pants
Vacations are the best time to pull off being bold, and you can do that with printed pants. Go ahead and do the print on print, remember to keep those colour stories together. Other than than the print pant in soft and anti-fit silhouettes are the way to go.
No. 10 Totally Tote-y
Although you’ve left your world behind you, you still got to carry a fair bit around with you, from your summer (romance) books, sunscreen, chap stick and those dreaded phones. It’s no wonder you need a tote. If you can’t afford a never full, not to work, cause there are so many bags that are ready for your picking right on linking rd! I’ve seen so many that are perfect to use, make your memories and then pass down to who ever will want them.
