I’ve heard a lot of different things when it comes to wedding proposals; it’s really the time for people to go all out. But, for the first time, I heard of someone live-tweeting his proposal on Twitter! Luckily for Mike Duerksen, neither his girlfriend nor her friends are on Twitter, so there was no reason for her to find out about the plan beforehand. I loved the idea of being able to follow someone’s big day so closely – and if you want to as well, read on for his tweets.
The downside of live-tweeting his proposal is that his girlfriend kept telling him to put away his phone. *Lol* if only she knew, right? :)
Date 7 was a bonfire in his parents’ backyard (the location had to be shifted due to weather issues), where he presented her with some gifts and, of course, the ring! :)
So there you go, a happy ending to the social media fairytale :) I love that even though he took her on several mini-dates within the day, he didn’t really go over-the-top – he just did things that were meaningful to them both. Very sweet!
