The sequel bug has caught Bollywood’s fancy for over a decade now. But, if you actually think about it, there are very few genuinely fun sequels that take the story of the movie forward or are just good in general. So, here’s my personal selection of the sequels that rocked!

1) Golmaal

This has to be one of the most successful ones in Bollywood history. Golmaal was funny and then Rohit Shetty really mastered his act with the two crazy and insanely funny flicks that followed. I love the whole Ajay Devgn school of humor and I can’t wait for more.

2) Dhoom

Dhoom was such a chic, fast-paced thriller and just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Yash Raj Films gave us Dhoom 2 with the scorching Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan chemistry. And, there’s more. I also love Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan who get funnier with each movie. Dhoom 3 is probably the most anticipated movie this year mainly beause it has Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif. Super like.

3) Krrish

Koi Mil Gaya was about this adorable little alien called Jadoo and then Indian got its first superhero in the fab sequel, Krrish. Now, everyone’s super thrilled about Hrithik Roshan’s ambitious project, Krissh 3 which stars Priyanka Chopra and rumor has it that Kangana Ranaut will also play an important role in this one.

4) Don

SRK can make even the bad guy look cool. And after the super success of Farhan Akhtar‘s Don, they followed it up with Don 2 which was pretty interesting as well. I wonder if SRK is up for a third run-in with the law.

5) Hera Pheri

Now, this might sound a little odd to some but I found the sequel to this immensely popular flick really funny too. Phir Hera Pheri might not have been as big at the box office but it certainly was worth a watch.

The Bhatts love the whole idea of sequels too and they’re really good at them. So, they’ve actually made sequels of all their big movies like Murder, Raaz and now Jism. Personally, I am really looking forward to Dabanngg 2 which will be Arbaaz Khan’s first time ever directing his superstar bro, Salman Khan. Also, I think Race 2 is generatig a lot of buzz as well and everyone’s really excited that Deepika Padukone is back on board.

I could really go on with this but I’d love if you tell us what sequels you’re really excited. Also, there have been some really disappointing ones like Bheja Fry 2 and Double Dhaamaal which were total bummers. Which ones did you totally love or hate?
