My favorite memories of Bangalore happen to be the night my buddy Anjaan from 94.3 Radio One took us partying 🙂 I love his confidence, happy vibe and insane energy and figured he’d be the perfect person to interview Fat Boy Slim! ♫♪
PS. Anjaan, love the hat! xoxo

Last Sunday, Ezone in Bangalore was buzzing with something like 4000 Dance music lovers all hyped and ready, it felt like being in a London super-club! After the opening acts with DJ Ivan and DJ Nikhil Chinapa, Norman Cook (better known as Fat Boy Slim) took the stage and kept the crowd partying and bopping away. Here are my top 5 things I loved about concert.

1. Bangalore!

People here Seriously know how to let their hair down and have a good time. Of course being the EDM capital of the country helps! 🙂

2. The Concert Production

With the massive huge digital LED Screens (backdrop) crazily morphing psychedelic imagery and the flying speakers. The audio-visual effect that the concert created was absolutely thrilling. I just wish they had given him a better console in place of makeshift table that he was using! But that didn’t stop DJ Fat Boy Slim from turning that table into something else! He grooved on it, under it, beside it, and even hid himself from the crowd by lying down under it!

3. The Energy, Man!

When Fat Boy Slim mixed and merged snatches of Praise You, Rockafeller Skank, and Right Here Right Now into a mix of house and electronica, and occasionally dubstep, he had the entire crowd singing along, jumping along, waving their hands and dancing hard for the full set, even demanding an encore at the end! This was a masterful performance by a legend and was right up there on the energy mark.

4. The Age Group

The crowd saw very few teeny-boppers (perhaps the music wasn’t from their generation?) but nevertheless its good to see thirty-somethings pack up a dance floor and party responsibly!

5. Fat Boy Slim – Man!

What a performer. The Grand Daddy of Dance Music. A DJ master who’s been at the game for over 30 years and still knows how to party like a teenager. Clearly having a good time jumping around in his Hawaiian t-shirt and shorts! Plus he was also so sweet backstage and it’s good to meet such a grounded and “real” person behind the projected performance image! #WIN

Well dome Elements Inc and 6th Dimension Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. for making this happen!
