Last week, DC Comics reveled that one of their mainstream characters will be reintroduced as being gay and it emerges that the character in question is the Green Lantern.
The Green Lantern is part of The Justice Society Of America and is being shown as a media mogul, Allan Scott. His important role is to recreate the group of superheroes after the demise of Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman!
The character will appear in Earth 2, a comic book that will release on Wednesday!
“What I really want to do with this character is make the fact that he’s gay to be a part of who he is and not to be the one identifying aspect of him and have his humor and his bravery be as much or more a part of him as his sexuality,” says writer of the comic story, James Robinson.
