So THIS guy’s life is about to get really exciting! Devender Seghal from Ellipsis Mumbai just qualified to represent India this July at the Global World Class finals in… *wait for it* …RIO, BRAZIL!!! World Class is the ultimate global search for the World’s Best Bartender conducted by Diageo Reserve and it’s going to be SO much fun!
So I have a little confession to make, as I watched the winners being announced (my heart in my hands) I felt this overwhelming hope for Devender to win. This is the second year he’s put his life into the competition and last time I think he missed it by half a shake (sorry, do bartenders actually say that Tim or can I just make that one up?)
Anyway point is, last year’s Indian champ is now a partner in his own bar in New York and it’s Dev’s turn to shine. I like that he’s charming, a little shy and sweet and 100% passionate about his craft. Doesn’t that sound like a winning combination to you? Now check out his cocktails!
