They are the twin sensation born on the 13th June 1986. They started as infants in the hit TV series Full House and went one to do a host of other projects including films, musicals and videos with their own production company Dualstar. After dominating the film and TV world they turned to the fashion industry launching 5 clothing projects. They are known to be the pioneers in the Hobo or Homeless look along with Kate Moss and Sienna Miller. Mary Kate and Ashley have been regularly listed in The Forbes “celebrity 100” list since 2002, collectively.

Ashley is the older by 2 minutes and is an inch taller than her sister Mary-Kate.

Ashley is taller than Mary-Kate and has a freckle above her lip. Mary Kate is a lefty while Ashley is Right-handed. They aren’t identical twins; Mary has a slightly rounder face compared to her twin’s oval shape.

The statement styles of the Olsen twins have made headlines in the fashion world. Their styles range from Vintage to Hobo Chic. Their own choice gravitates to oversized pieces and junk jewellery. It’s no surprise that they created clothing linea for Wal Mart, ‘The Row’, ‘Elizabeth and James’, a womensline for J.C. Penny called ‘Olsenboye’ and a t-shirt line called ‘Stylemint’.

Mary-Kate is currently dating former French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s half-brother Olivier Sarkozy. Mary-Kate’s past known link-ups have been Stavros Niarchos III, Max Winkler and David Katzenberg. She clearly had an artist fixation when she dated, Maxwell Snow (brother of artist Dash Snow) and in 2008 dated artist, Nate Lowmen. Her relationship with Stavros was most talked about after her statement claiming to be ‘still hurting’. She was famously linked to Heath Ledger at the time of his sudden death.
Ashley briefly dated a Manhattan restaurateur named Scott Sartiano and heartthrob actor/musician Jared Leto. Ashley is reported single since her split with Actor Justin Bartha since last year, 2011. Her most high profile link-up was with actor Johnny Depp!

The twins have been known as fashion icon, but ironical Ashley was listed worst dressed by PETA for wearing fur. Mary-Kate on the other hand was noted to have a much more serious issue with her eating disorder. Overall there have been speculations on the twins having drug and alcohol addictions.

– The twins were signed on to Full House when only 6months old but started shooting when they were 9 months to comply with the Child Labour laws for TV in America.
– In 2007, PETA dubbed Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen “The Trollsen Twins” because they ignored the activist group’s pleas to stop wearing fur. PETA also unveiled a campaign against them at their Walk of Fame star in L.A.
– The weirdest question the twins were asked was, “do you have the same birthday?” Their answer was “yes”.
– They were the first twins to get a Star of the Hollywood sidewalk.
– In 2009, the star was vandalized by PETA protestors.
8. What are they upto now?
Mary-Kate and Ashley own a limited liability company named, Dualstar that produced films, movies, video games and other entertainment projects. Recently they caused a stir when news broke that they plan to quit acting and concentrate on fashion. They were recently were crowned style queen when their label, ‘The Row’ won honours at the CFDA awards.
