Saturday evening in Mumbai saw us at the celebrations of the film Queens! Destiny of Dance, which has recently won six awards at The Los Angeles Movie Awards in the International Films category. The film, which takes one into the heart of an up-market Hijra or the trans-gender community, has made its dent on the global film circuit and that is why Madan Paliwal, the force behind Miraj Group, and Sonal Deshpande, COO – Miraj Entertainment Pvt Ltd, celebrated the success with a star-studded gathering of friends and Bollywood fraternity at Novotel in Juhu.
Queens! Destiny of Dance won the first place in the International Films Category, besides Best Director – David Atkins, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design – Vidya Krishnater, Best Supporting Actress – Seema Biswas and Best Special Effects categories.
Actor Rishi Kapoor did the honours of unveiling a plaque to commemorate the occasion and he was joined on the podium by the cast and crew of the film.
Also spotted at the event Makarand Deshpande, sufi singer Mudasir Ali, singer Victoria Polyakova, Yuvika Chaudhary, Raj Zutshi and Seema Biswas.
