I’m literally going green with envy at this trend. Jewel tones rule my world and going by the new Autumn/Winter 2012 collections Emerald green is the new colour of the season. Going by the red carpet love it’s been getting I can see why. Bipasha Basu recently wore an Armaan by Sunaina Puri and The Amazing Spider-Man actress Emma Stone wore a stunning Jason Wu pre-fall 2012 dress that highlighted her auburn hair.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie’s shimmery gowns brought in some glamour. Closer home, Neha Dhupia’s Shivan & Narresh colour-blocked maxi toed the line between glam and casual.

But my favourite has got to be supermodel Natasha Poly who SHUT IT DOWN in this plunging Gucci Autumn/Winter 2012 velvet gown.

Just yesterday Salma Hayek was snapped in an emerald green Gucci gown. BTW here’s a bit of fashion trivia for you; the word Emerald actually comes from the Sanskrit word Marakata. How’s that for a desi connect? It was a colour most associated with royalty. (I think I see a link here: Royalty and A-listers both sport them) So I think I’m gonna put those LBD’s into storage for now and follow the yellow brick road to Emerald city!
