I think I almost fell off my chair. This news that has got me rubbing my eyes in disbelief at my computer screen. According to New York Times magazine Dolce & Gabbana plan to launch their very own couture line on July 9th in the scenic location of Taormina in Italy. Say what? Couture in a resort town?

The duo just shut down their secondary lower-priced line D&G to focus solely on their main Dolce & Gabbana collection. The move to couture is undoubtedly a planned, calculative move. What’s more this collection is shrouded in some secrecy with just three journalists and a special few clients invited to view this collection. (What’s with this secrecy in fashion? First Tom Ford, now them?) I can’t help but imagine what they could possibly show. More corseted gowns? Baroque embroidery? Ack! I’m going bananas just thinking about it!
