He’s just one-film old in Bollywood and Arjun Kapoor already has a number of producers scrambling to cast him in their films. This morning, we told you he’s scrored the lead role in Karan Johar’s production of Chetan Bhagat’s book, 2 States. But even though he wasn’t the first choice (Shah Rukh Khan, Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were all approached), it looks like he got the role by default!

Sources have it that the producers, Karan Johar and the Nadiadwalas, wanted to start work on the film ASAP but Imran Khan could only give them dates in February or March next year! Also, he wanted to some time to prepare for the role! That’s when they decided to approach Arjun Kapoor (who impressed with his performance of a rustic villager in Ishaqzaade) and he readily agreed. Shooting will now begin as early as this September.
