No Music Launch for Cocktail?

Cocktail 2012

Cocktail is, by far, one of the best soundtracks this year, with a mix of songs so heady that it actually lives up to its name. However, unfortunately, Illuminati Films (Saif Ali Khan‘s banner) has run into a touch of trouble with the music launch – and they may not end up having one. Here’s why.

Apparently, the Indian government hasn’t granted visas to four of the singers who are from Pakistan, including Javed Bashir (who sang Tera Naam) and Arif Lohar (Jugni). The makers have reportedly decided to scrap the idea of the music launch, since it would be unfair to the Pakistani singers if they were not included. There’s been no official word yet, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see. But it’d be a right shame if an album as fantastic as Cocktail didn’t get a super music launch. Fingers crossed for them!

P.S. director Homi Adajania‘s favourite track on the album is Yaariyan; read our exclusive interview with him to know more about the film!
