If you were sitting in the front-row of Jean Paul Gaultier’s mens’wear show for spring / summer 2013, you could be forgiven for thinking you were at Punjab Fashion Week. The designer (who has never hidden his fascination for India), sent his models out wearing Sikh-style turbans and stick on beards!

Even though the collection had a very nautical bent (a Gaultier trademark) the inclusion of the turban in the styling gave the entire collection a very East-meets-West feel.

Woman’s Wear Daily (WWD.Com) wrote, “Gaultier showcased his seafarer’s more worldly side, with Indian-inspired tuxedos that paired a wraparound jacket with drop-crotch pants, or a ‘cage’ blazer with a floor-length trouser skirt.”

However, this is not the first time this month we’ve seen turbans on men. Even Etro had their male models sport the desi headgear at their spring / summer 2013 show in Milan, last week:

So as far as fashion is concerned, Singh clearly is King!
