We all know that India is a rich pool of inspiration for designers. Just how much is reflected in the recently concluded Menswear Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2013 season. We first reported that Dolce & Gabbana had done an entire collection inspired by Hindu warriors. Now, Italian luxury label Etro too has quite literally followed suit.
The brand which is known for its signature Indian-inspired paisley motif sent down a collection inspired by the Hindu holy book the Mahabharata. Entitled ‘Playsley’ it comprised of silks, turbans, Madras checks and jewel tones. Check out the footwear, it looks very reminiscent of our very own Kolhapuri chappals, don’t you think?
