TLC is known for pushing boundaries and bringing to their viewers innovative, never-seen-before shows. Be blunt with Adhuna Akhtar, a Red Chilli Idiot box production, was formed over a period of one year and each participant was selected through facebook and the internet. Lives and the stories of each individual were looked into and the break was given to those that most deserved and required the change.

Ask Adhuna how different it was to work on the show as compared to her usual celebrity clients? And she explains them to be equally challenging, ‘hair-dressing is an art-form, how you create and sculpt the hair is very important’. However unlike for a movie where they usually work with a team and a script in hand, referencing looks and then deciding whether a single look is sufficient for the character during the movie. The show was a live situation where they met the girls as the show was shot!

Here Adhuna’s experience of over 20 years came to use, as a veteran stylist she knows how to get the right information by asking the right questions. Her focus was on seeing the individual needs of each participant and treating each and everyone uniquely. Yet she feels that although bollywood does dictate the fashion mood of the country, people will still take time to open up to experiment. Watch BE BLUNT with Adhuna Akhtar starts on 16th July, every night at 10pm on TLC.
