Apparently, a song from the upcoming film Joker has been leaked… and it’s supposed to be Chitrangada Singh‘s item number! Farah Khan insists that it’s an old version of the song – she says that the song I Want Fakht You was changed to I Want Just You ages ago. I don’t know about you, but I always tend to doubt the legitimacy of “leaks” in Bollywood… instead, I’m smelling a big fat publicity stunt here! Check out the song and let us know what you think:
What better way than a “leak” to generate curiosity? People would probably not check out this song if it was a fully released version, but knowing it’s a leak, everyone wants to have a look! The same thing happened with Chammak Challo: the song was leaked and the team went up and down insisting that it was an old version. The result of that? Everyone and their dogs had listened to Chammak Challo, but were still looking forward to the official release because they wanted to hear the “improved” version. Looks like the Joker guys took a page out of Ra.One‘s PR campaign.
(Something tells me that if they were really trying to plug the leak, they wouldn’t be posting links and openly discussing it on Twitter…)
That said, what do you think of the song? I find it very catchy; I can easily see it getting stuck in my head. And now that I know how fun the song really is, I’m looking forward to seeing Chitrangada in it even more. (Dammit – I’m sure that was the PR guys’ intention!)
