Karan Johar has taking to unveiling his three Student of the Year “contenders” at 12:30am every night. We showed you the poster with Sidharth Malhotra, then the one with Alia Bhatt, and now he has released the poster featuring Varun Dhawan. Wanna know how KJo decided to cast Varun in his film?

In case you didn’t know, Varun is the son of director David Dhawan, and apparently always had it in his mind to enter the film industry. However, his parents sent him off to Manchester to get a solid education under his belt. Once he finished that, though, Varun was all set for films – and landed up at the Dharma office where he became one of the assistant directors on My Name is Khan, much like Sidharth. And one day, while Varun was standing in for Shah Rukh Khan, KJo spotted him through the lens and decided that he had a camera-ready face. In fact, on one of her set visits, director Farah Khan even exclaimed that Karan had some good-looking assistants. And so, Karan instinctively went with Varun for Student of the Year. What do you think of his choice?

PS. You Don’t Fool Me, Karan Johar.
