Huh? is the first reaction I had when I heard this bit of news. It looks like Bigg Boss is set for a complete makeover, thanks mostly to Salman Khan, who is keen on ridding the show of its “controversial” tag. The broadcasters are now calling it a “wholesome entertainer with a parivarik punch.” Huh?!?!
Mirror claims the show is now going to bring on contestants who have a “family friendly image” – that means the Rakhi Sawants, Sunny Leones, and Raja Chaudharys of the world are out. This change apparently has a lot to do with Salman (host of the show), who is said to have a huge fan following, especially among children… so are we to believe that Sallu insisted he wants a “clean” show and the makers went ahead and got rid of what’s considered to be their sole USP?
Sorry, but I just figured the entire point of shows like Bigg Boss was to be controversial, trashy, and everyone’s guilty pleasure. The controversy is exactly what generated all those talking points and made the show famous – as well as the contestants! So I just don’t understand this latest development – do you think Bigg Boss is going to be as successful now that it’s supposed to be a “family entertainer”?
