At a friend’s party the other night, we learnt of a rather interesting tidbit which we just had to share with you. We hear that a designer, who has been selected for a major fashion event (without many credentials except for dressing C-grade reality show stars), has out-sourced the entire production of their collection to designers who do job-work for big design brands.
The designer in question was in a fix when all their karigars went on leave for Ramadan and not even one garment was ready for the big day. So, the designer got others to produce their work and simply gave them the fabric with the plain instructions to design whatever they could with it.
However, this “designer” (if you could actually call them by that term), has got a bad reputation of not paying-up the regular workers. So all consignments have been held back till every Rupee has been cleared in hard cash!
Waiting with bated breath to finally see what will be showed on the ramp. Or not!
