Eating South Africa: Groot Constantia

Groot Constantia Estate

South Africa produces some of the world’s best wines – which should be no surprise when you’re home to the oldest winery in the Southern Hemisphere. Founded in 1685, Groot Constantia has been making quality wines for nearly 330 years. Situated in the Constantia Valley – “Cape Town’s Vineyard” – Groot Constantia offers wine tastings, vineyard and celler tours, and fine dining in its two restaurants. And since we happened to be in Cape Town… that’s exactly what we did 🙂

As you should expect from South Africa’ wine estates, a gourmet lunch is just around the corder when you’re done tasting wines. We stopped in at Simon’s for a bite to round off the day. Not too shabby, eh? 🙂
